I am sorry to say you will have to put up with my little reports until we get our hard drive hooked up. Correction- until Rob gets our hard drive hooked up. We have no more capacity for photos. So, there they sit in my camera.
I chuckled at this note I found yesterday from Caroline. It started out, Dear Anna, The deal is off.
I haven't found out what the deal was but it seems to have ended amicably.
Irene left her blankie at the library yesterday. It was in a moment of passion. Five kids, a 3 year old misbehaving, and one mom- on the verge. The kids were quickly ushered to the van only to discover the missing blankie later when it was very needed. I asked Irene if she would like to call the library and see if they found her blankie. So, I prepped her on what to say. I made it short and she's pretty good on the phone. I figured I would stay close for back-up. I dialed, listened for the ringing and then handed her the phone. She forgot to say her name. She forgot to tell them she left her blankie there. I think I heard her say, "Do you have my blankie?" So I went over and took the phone and kindly explained the situation. The voice of a young man asked, "Is it beige?" Isn't that the color of all well loved blankies? I think it started out purple, turned a light pink and has eventually landed on this sort of beige-ish non-color, but I didn't bother explaining all this to the young man. It's a small library and I was pretty sure we were the only ones who left one that day. So I stopped by later to pick it up. I spotted the only young man working (who happened to be a kid I had in as an assistant in his kindergarten classroom-he's now graduated from high school!) I explained that I was the one who called about the blankie. I apologized for the call and how I heard Irene forget to say so much as a hello, but launch right into "Do you have my blankie?" He looked at me, "Actually, she said, "I want my blankie back."" I was slightly mortified. Then he smiled and said, "It was the best conversation I had all day."

Oh Irene. I love that you handed the phone to her and walked off and I love that you found out that she demanded her blankie back from those thieves :)
